Each year the IRS presents a series of forums, workshops, and classes over a 3-day event in cities throughout the continental US. The IRS Nationwide Tax Forums are held in a variety of cities including Georgia, Florida, Texas, California, Nevada, and the District of Columbia. Tax professionals should take advantage of early registration (typically no later than two-weeks prior to the scheduled start of the local event) to secure not only a seat in the venues they want to attend but also significant discounts on the registration fees. Some forums and workshops can offer up to 18 continuing professional education credits (CPE) Circular 230 tax professionals can apply toward annual re-certification requirements.
There are often additional exhibits and meetings sponsored by both the IRS and other industry participants that offer consultation, products, and services. If you are a tax professional, there are opportunities to visit and discuss your experiences and possible case studies with more experienced practitioners in the Practitioner Case Resolution Room. These consultation sessions are typically available at to-be-arranged times during these 3-day events.
